Element: Maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Assess equipment, materials and environment for hazards and take protective action that gives first priority to health and safety
       
Element: Record and report WHS issues in accordance with organisational procedures
       
Element: Use safety measures and techniques when lifting and carrying in accordance with organisational procedures

  • Maintain personal conduct, manner, and presentation in accordance with organisational requirements
       
Element: Select and check personal protective clothing and safety equipment to ensure it is operational prior to commencing work
       
Element: Use and maintain safety and protective clothing and equipment according to manufacturer specifications and ensure it is appropriate for the duties performed
       
Element: Identify and anticipate factors that lead to increased risk to personal safety and take appropriate action

Assessment Tasks

Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts.
